Many
of us started the New Year fully committed to making long overdue
lifestyle changes. We assured ourselves that we'd finally lose those
surplus pounds, exercise more regularly and get more rest. The
demands of daily life, however, may have already worn our resolve
thin after just a few months. How then shall we find the will to continue?
Albert
Schweitzer provided
insight when he said: "In everyone' s life, at some time, our
inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with
another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who
rekindle the inner spirit."
When
you get discouraged, your best strategy for rekindling your inner
spirit is to find and read the stories and comments of others who are
committed to fitness. You can read about others’ successful efforts
here.
You can also join the AARP
Fat 2 Fit online
community and receive daily encouragement and fitness tips.
