In an effort to promote healthier food choices, the Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion, an agency of the United States Department of Agriculture, has created a new Web site loaded with nutritional information: MyFood-a-pedia.
You can type in individual foods or compare foods. For example, I typed in diet high-fiber bread and compared it with white bread after adding butter to each slice. The analysis gave me total calories, the food group and nutritional information.
Besides keeping this resource for your own use, share it with youngsters, families and friends. Educating ourselves about nutrition can help us make healthier food choices.
